Jake’s Takes: Find Out What It Takes to Run for Office

Recently, I shared the summary of a survey in which you, our members, made clear the importance you place on the Chamber’s efforts to help elect business-friendly candidates to office and to provide the information you need on local candidates to make a fully-informed voting decision. I made a commitment to help improve the process the Chamber leads to ensure credibility, integrity, transparency, and that your voice is heard.

Chamber Candidates Academy With that said, we are proud to announce the launch of the “Redding Chamber Political Action Committee Candidates Academy”, which could be considered a first step in our refined, non-partisan process to empower Shasta County citizens to consider pro-business, elected leadership.

This four-session program, scheduled for two hours each on successive Wednesdays in October, will give comprehensive insight into what it takes to run for local office – from discovering your “why” for running, to learning the issues, to seeking 3rd party advocates. The Chamber is taking a regional approach, focusing on elections in Anderson, City of Shasta Lake, Redding and County of Shasta.

If you, or someone you know, is considering a courageous leap into local elected office, or becoming a campaign manager or consultant, and you are looking for more information to set yourself up for success, this program will help.

Space is limited, so don’t delay. You can register by clicking HERE to be included in the first session on October 6th.
