The On-the-Job Training Program is designed to reduce the out of pocket cost for employers to hire and train new employees. This wage reimbursement program is available to qualifying employers with a full time (35+ hours per week) job opening.
The Work Experience (WEX) Program is designed for businesses willing to mentor entry-level employees between the ages of 18 and 24 that qualify for our Young Adults Program. These young adults have had little to no previous work experience and are looking to develop good working habits and attitudes while increasing their self-confidence in a career pathway. This program covers 100% of Young Adults’ wages, for up to 320 hours or 8 weeks.
The Work Opportunity Tax Credit ( WOTC) promotes the hiring of individuals who qualify as members of target clients, by providing a federal tax credit incentive of up to $9,000 for employers who hire them. The California EDD is the WOTC certifying agency for our local employers.
The Employment Development Department (EDD) Fidelity Bonding Program provides bonding services to help alleviate employers’ concerns in hiring ex-offenders and at-risk job applicants. This is accomplished through providing a level of insurance for employers against possible theft and dishonest or fraudulent acts.
A$ET is a unique and valuable opportunity that creates a pipeline that provides apprentices with the industry-selected education and hands-on training needed for skilled bookkeeping and accounting.
The Trade School offers comprehensive training programs in Carpentry, Electrical, and Plumbing trades, each beginning with the foundational NCCER Core curriculum. The Carpentry program focuses on rough carpentry skills, preparing students for roles as framers in the local industry. The Electrical and Plumbing programs equip students with the necessary knowledge and hands-on experience to pursue careers as electricians and plumbers, respectively. All programs emphasize practical skills and safety, including OSHA 10-hour and CPR certifications, to ensure graduates are well-prepared for employment in their chosen fields.
