Ambassador Chair

My name is Melissa Kallmes and I am thrilled to be a Redding Chamber Ambassador! I am originally from Susanville, CA and now reside in Redding, CA. I attended Shasta College and graduated from Sacramento State University with a BA in Recreation Administration and commercial tourism. After graduating my internship hotel offered me a full time Sales and Events Manager position with a Hilton property where I worked for almost 2 years building the base for my career. I then moved back to Redding, CA. where I chose to lay roots. I started a 12 year stretch working at the Gaia Hotel and Spa. I worked there in the catering and sales department from 2010 to 2023. In May of 2023 my dream job at the Sheraton Redding at the Sundial Bridge became available and I went for it. I am so happy to now be working at the Sheraton Redding with an amazing team at a beautiful property! Aside from my professional life, I thrive being around friends and family. I am married to my best friend and thoroughly enjoy life with him whether it be traveling and exploring or just staying in and making our home lived in. We have 2 cats, Indy and Jonesy (named after Indiana Jones) and 1 dog named Oliver. I come from a large family and am the second oldest of 7 kids. I am a huge 49ers fan. I love concerts, the beach, and lake life!
